More about Rome: Total War

Gameplay

Basically, Rome: Total War is a strategy video game. There are two kinds of gameplay for you to experience: the turn-based, and the single-player campaign.

About the single-player campaign mode, you begin the game by choosing one of three Roman families: the Julii, the Brutii, and the Scipii. The final goal of the campaign is to become the emperor by dominating fifty different provinces. After that, you have to control those provinces and outlast a specific faction or factions to finish the game.

In addition, Rome: Total War also features the turn-based mode which I mentioned earlier. This mode is mainly about 3D, real-time battles. You can create a custom battle against AI or a multiplayer battle fight with other players. What is worth mentioning is that AI has a great sense of military engagement.

Different from an overhead map of the world in the campaign, the battles occur on your own battlefield. Moreover, Rome Total War 1 has a variety of units, which are divided into infantry, cavalry, archers, and siege weapons, and each of them has different skills, health, morale. During the battle, if their morale declines too low, then they strike to escape the battle.

What I like the most is that Rome: Total War requires a sensible, flexible logistics. In the game, there are tons of formations of units which can affect their performance in battles. Moreover, you can use complex tactics to them gain victory.
