Scum

Introduction

Scum is the idea of creating a world where people should sacrifice themselves to fight, to survive. With a clear vision, Croteam and Gampires studio, have decided to develop the “prison riot survival game” which is so-called “Scum”. The release date was in August 2018. Supporting the process, Devolver Digital is announced to be the publisher.

At first glance, this game might be a bit common with other popular survival game. But, the backstory of Scum is one of the things that attracted me. It is about combining your knowledge and skills at the same time to survive and then get off the island where you stuck for a long time. Scum is a multiplayer open world, so which means that your in-game experience would blow your mind twice times than usual.

How to use the commands in Scum?

Commands in Scum start with a hashtag # and are sent in the chatbox.

To open the chat box, press the T key. You can send a command by typing it into the chat box and hitting the ENTER key on your keyboard.

The game has been created lots of interesting phrases to support the player. You can type #setweather. The feature of this hashtag will help you change the weather. Setting 0 is for sunny, and one is for the strongest storm with wind, fog and rain. The command list is now publishing below. Read now!

More about Scum

Gameplay

Many people will think Scum is an easy game to play with if you know how to deal with weapons and having the shooting skills. But the game design is not only stopping from that. The game map is not limited to 144 square meters in which the developers have created a diversified environment to facilitate the greater exploration for the player. Just imagine you stuck in an isolated island and lots of people are trying to hunt you down, the only person can help you survive is yourself.

Like any other game, you will begin with customizing your character. The character creation menu might have a complex interface, but no worries because these functions only support your creativity in completing your character outlook. The game has a range of options for you, such as age, race and physique. And one more point should be noted that your character will grow and be mature during the event.

As I mentioned above, the player should combine both knowledge and skills. To escape the isolated island, the player should train themselves to run, climb, defend and kill the opponent. And, they should learn to find food and necessary stuff to carry with during the escape. Every moment of hunting will be depicted so authentically. I think many players will love these moments because it will make them feel mature like they can handle all the things by themselves if the same situation is happening.

So how about the combat in Scum? How can you survive alone when facing tons of enemies, right? Most of the enemies have high tier military loot, but some airdrops can be traps with puppets inside. Manage to kill them; you still find nice loot. Besides, the player can earn “fame points” to gain a chance to clone back after death.

Conclusion

Scum would be a mindblowing game because not only does the player experience the advanced weapons, but you can also enjoy the moments of hunting and saving yourself in the desolate and waste island. The commands will be useful for all of the players before having the most intense escape ever. So, play now or never ;)
